I feel that every woman should do a Candida cleanse at some point in her life, if not as a yearly Female Health & Wellness Ritual:
Candida Overgrowth is an insidious
illthat causes nonspecific, annoying and sometimes
debilitating symptoms including menopausal and PMS symptoms. People erroneous
think Candida overgrowth is a systemic infection. But a systemic infection is
when the Candida spores (seeds) are
actually in the blood-an emergent
condition! Rather, we are talking about insidious Candida hyphae (
I wrote this long article because many women were approaching me for help related to complaints of fatigue. Yet, they did not present with the Chinese medicine diagnosis I expected. Some were self-treating with substances [including Chinese herbals] that were dis-harmonious with their constitution, making accurate diagnosis and treatment difficult. While women are mostly impacted by CFS, 20% of sufferers are men who remain undiagnosed [Clayton, 2015, p.
The PAP smear is important because (in simple terms) it
screens for Human Papillomavirus (HPV) & Cervical Cancer. In this article is explained how the PAP more specifically:
- Screens for ASC-H to determines the need for colposcopy to rule out HSIL..
- Differentiates between LSIL vs. HSIL. HSIL is
indication for loop electrosurgical excision procedures (LEEP).
- Identifies women with a negative histology, but
clinical evidence of viral (e.g. HPV) persistence and risk for progression
(Solomon et al, 2002).
The vaccine issue has come full circle. Community, public, and world health organizations have done their job at the population health level to decrease the global incidence and prevalence of vaccine-preventible diseases- even eradicating some. It is now our job at the individual level. Meaning, even if only 1/ 100,000 children has an adverse reaction to a vaccine [the number needed to harm/ NNH];that one child is still that family's one-in-a-million!!
If vaccinating, delaying/ partially vaccinating or not vaccinating, also have a back-up plan for prevention & intervention.
Not all children with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) will demonstrate obvious symptoms during a clinic visit. Therefore, certain academic, social, and emotional problems should prompt the evaluation for the three types of ADHD- inattentive, hyperactive-impulsivity, and combined types (Taylor, 2013). All Diagnostic & Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders Fifth Edition diagnostic criteria are outlined in a checklist published by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (2014).
